If you are looking for ways to increase your understanding of social media then on the 12th of December an event is taking place that you will benefit from attending.
Up until a few months ago I had not heard of Robert Scoble @scobleizer – that was until my good friend and fellow digital entrepreneur, Thomas Power @thomaspower mentioned Robert over one of our digital dinners as being a social media expert.
I looked Robert up on Twitter to find that he had 366,815 followers and had tweeted over 65,000 times! This is a staggering volume of followers for a non-celeb – for example Gwyneth Paltrow @GwynethPaltrow has 1,746,359 followers.
I then checked Robert Scoble out on Klout – he has a score of 88, this is high, very high. For example, Barack Obama has a Klout score of 99. He probably has dozens of other social media outposts like Facebook, LinkedIn and so on and probably reaches many many millions of people but once I saw his Klout and Twitter following I was convinced and didn’t look any further.
But, does a Klout score of 88 and 366,815 Twitter followers (for a non celeb like Gwyneth) actually mean anything?
Well – it does, yes – it means that Robert has reach and influence – and these 2 ingredients are like flour and water when making bread – without them you simply won’t have a chance – so, how do real people (non celebs) achieve this? Is it important? What is the future for social? Are any other technologies coming into play that will affect this?
On the 12th December, at an Exclusive Christmas Gala Dinner, Robert Scoble will map out the future of business and technology and answer questions from the floor on the future of Social, Sensors, Location, Mobile and Big Data.
So, if Social, Sensors, Location, Mobile and Big Data is important to you or your business and you want to know what the future may look like then you should attend this event.
